Vancouver Café and Store

The Vancouver Café and Store premises were originally occupied by one of Albany's first corner stores, and the proprietor approached dcdesign to create a visual identity that was reflective of the history of the building. A decorative art-deco tile on an antique washstand in the café's bathroom was the inspiration for the floral motif that is paired with traditional typography to form the logo. This floral motif and a distinctive colour palette provided the basis for the embellishment of a range of printed media, such as bookmarks, postcards, stationery, banners, t-shirts and signage.
